Gladys Scott went home to her Lord and Saviour on February 8, 2016. She passed away suddenly but peacefully at Manitoulin Health Centre in her 97th year with family by her side. Gladys made her home at Manitoulin Centennial Manor and always spoke highly of the staff who tended her with care. Previously, she was a resident of Mindemoya. Gladys (Vaughn), daughter of Pettit Vaughn and Barbara Gruer, was born November 22, 1919 in Carlton County, near Ottawa. She met her husband William (Bill) Scott (predeceased 1968) in Toronto and settled at R.R. 3, Woodstock to raise her family. Cherished mother of Dale (Holly), Margaret (Arthur) Hill, Ann (Rick) Roberts and Tom (Mary). She was the loving grandmother of Heather, Sarah, Bethany, Leah, Willi, Brian, Michael, Christina, Kyle, Matthew and David and the great-gramma to 9 little ones (Isaac, Nathan, Rachel, Emma, Annabelle, Billy, Thomas, Milo and Shaya). Gladys retired from Western Farmers’ Mutual Insurance and moved to Manitoulin in 1982 where she enjoyed many years as an active volunteer in her community. She combined a love of travel and helping others by volunteering for several overseas missions.
A celebration of life will be held at Mindemoya Missionary Church on Saturday February 13, 2016 at 11:00 with visitation at 10:00. Interment will be at a later date, at Delmer Cemetery, Tillsonburg where her husband is buried.

Gladys was a very special person who shared much of her time volunteering and helping to better the lives of others. She holds a special place in my heart as my "snowmobile" buddy. It has been a pleasure to have known this wonderful lady. My sympathy to all of her family.
