In Loving Memory of
Howard Roger Mishibinijima (Simon)
Sunrise: May 13, 1953 - Sunset: March 16, 2024

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved brother, Howard Roger Mishibinijima,
who passed away at his home on Saturday, March 16, 2024.
He was 70 years old.

Howard was born on May 13, 1953 in Manitowaning on Manitoulin Island. He grew up in a large family in South Bay on the Wiikwemkoong Unceded Reserve.
A lifelong bachelor, he lovingly took care of the Simon homestead in South Bay.

During his lifetime, Howard took on a variety of seasonal work, tobacco picking and tree planting. He worked at the Levine's Hide Company and Bruce Mine Logging. He did volunteer work for the South Bay Powwow grounds and Our Lady of Grace Church. He enjoyed watching hockey and soccer, playing euchre and horseshoes, and going fishing. He played baseball and played for the South Bay Rockies hockey team. He was loving, caring and was there unconditionally for his siblings whenever they needed him. He was a fluent Anishnabemowin speaker and had a great sense of humour with all of his jokes and always knew how to put a smile on everyone's face.

Howard is survived by his siblings Malcolm,
Mary (Ed predeceased), Dianne (Robert), Terry,
Godfrey (Virginia) Shawanda and predeceased by siblings Valerie (David), Philip, Rozina (Joseph) Lavallee,
Eugene and Francis (Laurie Ann) as well as his parents
Agnes and Gabriel Mishibinijima.
Godson of the late Patrick and Victoria Osawanimiki.
Godfather of Roger Lavallee
and Valerie Lavallee (predeceased).
He will be missed greatly by his dear friends: Alphonse Pete, Kendoe Neshkiwe, Mikey Fox, cousins Hughie Simon and Ricky Osawanimiki,
nephew Rodney Lavallee, Ronnie Peltier and family.
He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his Auntie Quanja, many nieces, nephews family and friends.
