I've only known Deannie personally for a couple of years but have known of her for many years through mutual good friends. The first time I met her was like she'd been my friend forever too. That's the kind of person she was. Caring, funny and genuinely interested in others. It was my privilege to have known Deannie and she will be truly missed.

I want to express my heartfelt sympathy to Deannies family. I work at the daycare in St. Joseph/St. Mary School where Deannie worked. She will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by all of us at PAL Daycare. She was a light at the end of the hallway for us. Always full of smiles and caring words. I enjoyed our daily chats in the hallway, sharing stories with her and working together. I am heart broken. She was such a caring person, always willing to help out and the children loved her. She was a great support to me when my Dad was diagnosed with brain cancer , during his battle and after he passed away. She always was a shoulder to lean on and always made sure I knew she was there to talk to. She made such a difference. Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you all.

I wish to express my deepest sympathy to Deannie's family. I worked with Deannie at St. Joseph/St. Mary School during the 2009/2010 school year. We had many chats and she spoke very fondly of all of you and told many funny stories of you all growing up together. She spoke often of both her mother and father and was always excited when she knew she was heading up to see her dad. During that year, I learned that on her lunch breaks she would venture down to a nearby park to bring food and clothing for homeless people. She would give me a smile and tell me that she was heading out to check up on her friends. She loved the students in the school and will be dearly missed.

I would like to express my deepest condolences to Deannie's family. I write this with my prayers for all of you in mind. Deannie was an amazing friend, colleague and neighbour. I spent many days in hot and cold weather on the yard, talking with her in the office, and even after I was no longer at St. Joseph's/St, Mary's we continued to chat. Deannie was a loving, kind, understanding and strong woman who will be missed by all in our community. Please know that along with the many children who adored Deannie, and colleagues, my prayers are with you, and with Deannie.

Please accept my sincere condolences and sympathy on your loss. Deannie was a good friend and we worked together for years in Belleville and Napanee. We kept in touch when she moved to Kingston. Deannie, Mary and I shared many lunches dinners and shopping excursions including our limo ride to Toronto (nine girls) to pick up our winnings.

I will miss Deannie very much. She was a loyal and genuine friend with an incredible sense of humour. Your legacy will live on Deannie. You have shown all of us what is means to care about others.

Sleep in peace my friend!

Dear Mr. Wilson, and Marguerite:

Words cannot express my shock, and sorrow at your loss. It is overwhelming.
I had the great good fortune of meeting Deannie through her good friend, Chris Riddell. I don't think I ever met anyone else quite like her - her kindness, her sense of humour, and boy, could she make the long car ride from Bancroft to Sudbury pass in a flash (non-stop talking all the way!). Please know that you, and your family, are in my thoughts and prayers, and that the memory of Deannie will survive with everyone who ever met her. Fred has asked that I pass on his condolences to you and Marguerite.

Mr. Wilson, Steph and Family,

Deannie was a wonderful woman. She was family to my brother, sister and I. She loved us as if we were her own children. Deannie was always interested in our lives and an excellent sounding board for all of life's problems! We enjoyed the time we spent with her on all the family vacations on the houseboat, Christmas and Thanksgiving dinners. We are all shocked and deeply saddened by the sudden passing of our friend. She will forever live on in our hearts and we will always cherish the memories we made.

Dear Mr. Wilson, family and friends of Deannie,
Deannie has been a part of my family since as long as I can remember. As a child our families would spend summers together out on the water and Deannie played a big part of my dream and love for Hair Styling. She would sit and let me play with her hair for hours upon hours with clips and kleenex and many squirts from the water bottle. I moved to Kingston 7 years ago to attend Hair styling school and Deannie has always been my number one client and second Mom. I had the pleasure of beautifying my lifelong friend every 4 weeks to the day like clock work. It was my pleasure to have been given the opportunity to spend so much time with her and be a small part of why she was always so "put together". Deannie was caring, funny, thoughtful and beautiful inside and out and I miss her greatly. Deannie spoke often of her parents, family, friends, co workers the kids from her school who referred to her as "Mrs. S". Reading all these comments from her friends I can recognize many names of friends she spoke often and very highly of. Thank you Deannie for great advice over the years, a listening ear and best friend to my Mom. I am forever grateful. Rest in peace.

There was an instant connection between Mrs. S and our daughter when we registered her at the school. Deannie always had kind words about our chldren and a genuine warm and welcoming smile when we entered the school. We have since moved schools.Just last month we thought we would stop in and say hello. Sadly we had missed her as she had left for the day. We will never get that chance again. Thank you for all the love you gave to all the children at school.
