Wallace Howard Dinsmore

November 27, 1926-December 10, 2012

Wallace Howard Dinsmore, passed away peacefully at the Manitoulin Health Centre, Mindemoya Site, on Monday December 10, 2012 at the age of 86. Predeceased by his parents Christine (nee Campbell) and Gordon Dinsmore and Sister Helen.  Survived by sister’s Ardath, husband Jim Heis of Manitoba and Donna, husband Blair Bailey of Little Current, and Brother Bill and Florence Dinsmore of Meaford Ontario.
Wallace will be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews, and his extended family at Community Living Manitoulin. Wallace grew up in Gore Bay; he maintained close ties with his family whom he loved deeply. Wallace is especially missed by his friend Rachelle who lived in community with him at Field House in Mindemoya. Rachelle was “Wallace’s girl”.  He would sing to her, they were inseparable on outings, always helping each other, Wallace was always’ the perfect gentleman.
The Gore Bay nursing home was a popular visiting spot for Wallace as he had many friends who lived there.  He enjoyed the musical entertainment and chatting with old friends.  Wallace was a gentle soul who held no ill will towards anyone. He left a huge impression on everyone who had the great pleasure of knowing him.  We will miss his spontaneous singing of songs that he would make up on the spot.  He would sign about how beautiful Rachelle was, or how helpful his personal support staff members were to him. Everyone who knew and loved Wallace learned from him what it means to be kind, considerate, thankful and genuine.
There will be a memorial service for Wallace on January the 11th, 2013, beginning at 11:30 am, at the Missionary Church in Mindemoya. A fellowship luncheon will be held in the church hall following the service.  In lieu of flowers, donations to Community Living Manitoulin will be greatly appreciated.

A graveside service in Gordon Cemetery, next summer.
