William Moggy Obituary

In Loving Memory of
William "Bill" Walter Moggy
November 6, 1945 - February 5, 2026

In his 81st year William "Bill" Walter Moggy passed away peacefully at the Manitoulin Health Centre on Thursday, February 5th, 2026.

Born in Mindemoya hospital to Walter and Elsie Moggy (nee Chatwell).
Predeceased by fiancé Jill Carr.

The youngest and last surviving sibling of five
Norma (Don) Hembruff, Hugh (Marilyn), Rae (John) Skippen, and Glenn (Marilyn surviving).

Loving father to Lisa (Frank) Hallaert and Dawn (Andy) Roque.
Amazing Grandfather to Billy, Jacob, Emily, Daniel, and Hudson.

Missed by eight nieces, nephews and many cousins turned into life long friends.

Bill grew up on a farm on the Bidwell, a farm he later raised "his girls" on. He attended Budges school until he left to help on the farm.
Bill loved to play hockey and baseball in his earlier years. He coached "senior" hockey while managing Manitowaning Arena.
For all the different jobs he had, Bill often dreamed of driving transport. This dream was one he had from when he was little up until he was an adult.
Bill fulfilled his dream and drove for Manitoulin Transport for 38+ years.
He loved his job driving truck all over Canada. Meeting different people, seeing different places and learning new things.
Highlights for Bill was when he drove truck for the iconic Manitoulin Transport calendars on the Island, in New Brunswick and other places.
Although he loved to drive, Bill adored his girls and when his grandchildren came along he was in his glory.
Bill was "Uncle Bill" to many and he returned that affection, he happily "adopted" many into his family.
He was stubborn, funny, kind, loyal, generous, and believed in family first.
Bill Moggy will be missed by all that knew him.

Cremation has taken place.
A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
