Wilfred Gordon Wemigwans

In loving memory of Wilfred Gordon Wemigwans 
who was born on August 19, 1952, 
he started his journey to the Spirit World on January 11, 2022.

Born in Manitowaning Ontario, Gordon passed away at 69 years of age in Greater Sudbury Ontario at 
Health Sciences North. 

Papa really loved "his girls", he valued education and made sure his children went to school.  Gordonehns' family was his pride and joy.  The pitter-patter sound of his grandchildren's feet was music to his ears. He especially loved playing guitar with Myrna and Amanda or playing piano with Robin. Papa loved his morning drives with his wife Julia. 

Gordon took great pleasure in driving around visiting his niichikenh especially Kenneth "Mahovelich" Enosse, even if he was riding his lawnmower.  

He was constantly working on projects around the house 
and was passionate about cedar logging in the bush. 
His silly sense of humour and funny stories will be
 missed by many. 

He will be greatly missed by his wife Julia Wemigwans, and his girls Juliette Wemigwans (friend Lyle), Marsha "Mona" Oshkabewisens (husband Irvin), Myrna Shawanda (husband Calvin), Starr Wemigwans, Amanda Wemigwans, Robin Wemigwans (husband Will), and Deanna "Dee" (baa) Wemigwans-Keefe. 
He raised and loved his special grandsons 
Carlos and Gordon "Gee" Wemigwans. 

He was the chi-papa to 25 grandchildren 
and 10 great-grandchildren. 
His many aunties, uncles, nieces, nephews, and godchildren were very special to him. His surviving aunts and 
uncles Beatrice, Rozina, Ronnie (wife Gail),
 and Patsy (husband Arnold) were like siblings to him. 

His brothers Howard Shawana, James "Mawla" Shawana, Justin (baa) Shawana, and Clement (baa) Shawana will miss him greatly. Along with his siblings from the United States
 Pat Ritchie (husband Al), Emma Migwanabe, 
and Dan (baa) Ritchie Sr. 

He will be joining his parents Nancy (baa) Shawana and 
Joseph (baa) Migwanabe, as well as his grandparents 
Esther (baa) Animikwan, and Adolphus (baa) Wemigwans.

no matter what" 

 Visitation will be held from 
Friday January 14, 2022 at 7PM.
Celebration of life will take place on 
Sunday January 16, 2022 at 10AM
at 116 Willow Street, Wikwemikong Ontario. 
With Cremation to follow.
