Victoria (Vicki) Shawongonabe
September 6, 1964 - May 5, 2024

We are saddened to announce the passing of Victoria (Vicki) Shawongonabe on May 5th 2024 at Manitoulin Health Centre.

Proud daughter to Eleanor Shawongonabe (nee Roy) and Maurice-ba Shawongonabe (Abel) predeceased.
Loving mother to Tashina, Shawnee, Ryan,
Alexandria (Bernard), Mkoonhs (Autumn), infant son-ba, Miigwaanhs. Proud grandmother to Marley-ba,
Patience, Nigel, Rowan. Sister to Cathy (Richard),
Maureen (Leslie), Darryl, Josie (Darrell).
Leaving behind many nieces & nephews.  

Grand-dad used to call her "mommy", he must have known she would be a "mom & aunty" to many others.
Vicki was employed at Kina Gbezhgomi Child & Family Services and helped many other organizations utilizing her financial expertise in varying capacities.

She was a proud Hockey mom & grandma who enjoyed watching her children and grandchildren playing hockey.  
She was known to some as "Karaoke Queen", enjoyed true crime, baseball & the Vancouver Canucks.
She was kind, had a caring nature and put others before herself. She had an infectious smile & laugh.
She spent many years in the raindance lodge, raising her children in the lodge and passing on those traditions.

Family and friends will gather for

at St. Ignatius Church in Buzwah
on Tuesday, May 7, 2024 at 1:00pm
Funeral Service
will be at Holy Cross Mission Church
on Thursday May 9th at 11:00am
