In Loving Memory
Vanessa Robin Angelina Osawamick
“Zhaawshko-benes-kwe”
July 25, 1995 to November 22, 2021
Vanessa is the special daughter to Cherie Osawamick and Edward Peltier. She is the niece-granddaughter to Ann-Marie Recollet and was nooshehns to Mishomis Donald Jacko-ba. She was lovingly raised by her Auntie-Mom Patricia Osawamick and “Papa” Richard Flamand Sr. She will be sadly missed by her godparents Joey Osawamick and Jean Flamand.
Vanessa is predeceased by her dear brothers Aaron ba (1999) and “Antz” Anthony ba (2006). She will be fondly remembered by her sisters Amanda, Becky, Keedees, brother Jason and special brother Kyle. She was also dearly loved by her older siblings, sisters Wanda and Natalie, brother Richard Jr. and her special niece Alyssa.
Vanessa is greatly adored by her sweet sons, Harlen and Kewadin (father Cory Shigwadja) and is greatly missed by her daughter Nahla. She enjoyed taking her boys swimming and fishing and looked forward to doing the same for her baby girl. She also created opportunities to do arts and crafts with her children. She truly wanted the best for her children and was resilient with patience and forward thinking.
Vanessa loved the outdoors and could handle a four-wheeler and tractor with great skill. She proudly participated in the Indigenous Environmental Keepers Training Program. She enjoyed cooking and as a new born she was the littlest hostess at Pat’s Café. She also helped cook for her Aunt Hiawatha and always graciously helped out on the farm for Auntie Bev and Uncle Louis.
Vanessa had such a special way of sharing her unique humour and her laughter was contagious resulting in many more smiles. She was a true bingo caller on social media and made the best out of everything. She was part of the “wolf pack” and will be missed in-the-pines.
Vanessa is certainly a vibrant spirit who undoubtedly loved life. She will be greatly missed by many dear friends and relatives on all sides of her families.
