Theresa Eleanor (Bondy) Cormack

In Loving Memory of
Theresa Eleanor Cormack (nee Bondy)
August 28, 1944 - October 12, 2025

Theresa was born in Wikwemikong, on Manitoulin Island, on August 28, 1944. 

She was predeceased by
her mother Nellie (Kwe) Bondy,
her father Jacob Bondy,
her mother Sarah Bondy (nee Shawana),
brothers Jerry (Jenmee) Bondy, Michael Bondy, David Bondy, Narcisse (M'Koonhs),
sisters Mary Assinewe, Rita Recollet
and most recently her brother Theodore Bondy,
her precious grandson Ryan Brown
and the love of her life David Cormack Sr. in 2011.

She is survived by
her sons Dennis, David (Stephanie),
her daughter Debbie (Dave) Brown
and many nieces, nephews, grandchildren and their families.

Theresa was married to Dave Cormack Sr. in 1969 and moved to Rainy River with her family from Scarborough, Ontario in 1974. There she worked at the Rainy River Hospital in the housekeeping department until they relocated to Dryden, Ontario in 1975. She then worked at the Dryden District Hospital in the housekeeping department until her retirement in 1999.

Mom loved to dote on her grandchildren, each and every one of them. Her kindness to all animals and the downtrodden was exemplary. She always had a quick smile that danced to her eyes and was always ready to listen and offer motherly advice to those in need. Truly, a mere paragraph or page cannot adequately explain the levels of her compassion, love and good nature. She was one of a kind and our hearts are truly broken with her passing.

Theresa, in tradition with her Ojibwe culture, will have a wake with traditional ceremony and then later cremated according to her wishes.

at St. Ignatius Church, Buzwah
Visitation
on Thursday, October 16, 2025 from 2pm.
Funeral Mass
on Saturday, October 18, 2025 at 11am.

A graveside Celebration of Life will be held in Toronto, Ontario, come spring of 2026 in Pine Hills Cemetery where her ashes will be interred alongside her husband in the family burial plot.
