who passed away peacefully, surrounded by family at Health Sciences North, Sudbury on Friday, March 28th, 2025 at the age of 55.
Born on Friday, August 15th, 1969 in Wikwemikong.
She is predeceased by her father Francis Douglas Mandamin.
Survived by her mother Margaret Stella Mandamin
and siblings Angeline, Melanie (Kirk predeceased), Rudy (Noella) and Maanga "Pichi" (Aaron).
Survived by her long time partner Rolland Pangowish.
Ruby will be greatly missed by her children
Cassandra (Ray),
Bradley,
Derrian (Tamarra),
Wiingash (predeceaced)
and Kristy,
as well as special children
Cori (Jessica)
and Brayden (predeceased).
Though embracing and promoting many close friends as honorary brothers and sisters, her greatest legacy will be her grandchildren.
Shaynece (Loukas), Malikiah, Nyka, Riley, Nicklaus, Dylan, Athena, Odin, Aurora, Dylan, Auriel, Alekai, Alanis, Justice, Jesse, Jimmy, Jax, Thedeus, Elektra and Mavric.
She will be sadly missed by Uncle Beebz.
Ruby loved each and every one of her grandchildren "real brutal", showering them with love every chance she got.
Ruby was known for her kind heart, contagious laugh and rarely found without a smile on her face. She was the definition of "shishtness". She held great hopes for the future of her community of Wikwemikong and stood ready to fight for whatever she thought was right.
Her family, many friends and supporters will always remember her inspiring example as a strong Anishinaabe' Kwe.
Family and friends will gather
at St. Ignatius Church, Buzwah
Visitation on Thursday, April 3rd, 2025 from 5pm.
Funeral Mass on Saturday, April 5th, 2025 at 11am.
Cremation to follow.
There will be a special celebration of Ruby’s life
later in July of 2025.
