Roy Thomas Mishibinijima
November 28, 1944 - May 11, 2026
Roy Thomas of Wikwemikong, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family, at the Manitoulin Health Centre at the age of 82. He was born in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario and was raised in Wikwemikong.
Son of the late Ignatius and Victoria Mishibinijima (nee Wassegijig-Osawamick).
Thomas is reunited with his loving wife Lucy Jane Peltier
and his son Rennie.
Beloved father of Brian (Melissa) and Johnathan.
Loving grandfather of Renee, Merideth (Joshua), Faith (Ian), Breanne (Peter), Hope, Eadian and Olivia.
Cherished great grandfather of Kaiden, Chloe and Aura.
Dear brother of
Lina (Moses) (both predeceased), Henry (Marie) (both predeceased),
Shirley (predeceased) (Bill), Lenord (predeceased),
Josephine (predeceased), Catherine (predeceased) (Sydney),
Raymond (predeceased) (Alison), Anthony (Linda predeceased),
Stella (predeceased) (Wayne), James (Evelyn) and Mark.
He will be missed by his fur baby Biscuit.
Forever in the hearts of many nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
Thomas worked numerous jobs in his younger years. He enjoyed working at Rainbow Lodge as an addiction counsellor as his main career. He loved playing the cello, fiddle and harmonica. Thomas loved going to church and making trips to Andy's to get his Keno tickets. He loved travelling to different casinos all over the place. Most importantly, he loved spending quality time with his grandchildren. Thomas will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved him.
Family and friends will gather
at St. Ignatius Church, Buzwah
Visitation on Thursday, May 14, 2026 from 6pm.
Funeral Service on Saturday, May 16, 2026 at 2pm.
A feast will follow the service.
Cremation to follow.
