In Loving Memory of
Rock “Kanwiindigo” Trudeau
September 26, 1991 - March 15, 2026
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Rock “Kanwiindigo” Trudeau in Wikwemikong, Ontario, on Sunday, March 15, at the age of 34.
Son of Guy Dumas and Alfreda Trudeau.
Special sister Cree Trudeau.
Proud father of Dion, Amelia, Talon, Kerria
and nephews Cazhus and Jayce.
Grandson of Alphie (Shingwak) and Amelia Trudeau and Keno and Harriette Linklater.
Special friend Ashley Antone.
Rock was an extraordinary writer who had a deep love for hip-hop, rap music, and finding joy and meaning in every melody. Whether it was a quiet song that spoke to the soul or a rhythm that filled the room with life, he delivered his gift with passion and precision.
Music was always a part of who he was. It brought him comfort, connection, and expression, and will forever echo in the memories of those who knew and loved them. He loved going for rides in the bush to blast tunes from his many idols. The memories we all hold so close to our hearts will be forever remembered by so many.
Rock loved skateboarding all over Sault Ste Marie, from sunrise to sunset. He should have had shares in the skateboard business. He had a motorcycle for a while, until we saw him do tricks that made us hold our breath. He loved the experience of risk and freedom. Just the thrill of stunts and mid-air tricks lit him up.
Rock was an awesome friend to many. He was real, funny, and gave the shirt off his back. No one was ever excluded anywhere he went. Always mindful of everyone around him. He stood by everyone in his life through the darkest of times. He was the light, as his name was given to him by Betty Pamp, Keesic in Breeze Song, MI., near Lansing, MI.
Rock always wanted the best for everyone around him and looked out for friends and family. Rock was a very kind, funny, hilarious at times, humble, gentle, and generous person who loved his chocolate bars and pop, but most of all making music. He will be dearly missed. My heart goes out to those close to him.
