Ole Petter Gustav Elvestad

January 29, 1944-August 18, 2022

Petter passed away unexpectedly at the age of 78 in home on Manitoulin Island, his paradise, the place he loved.

 Beloved husband of Ann Elvestad. Son of Borre and Else Elvestad (both predeceased).

 Daughters Kirsten Elvestad (Scott Finucan) and Ingrid Dobson(predeceased) (Dave) are thankful to have been able to call him dad.

 Petter was the proud Bestefar of Easton and Elle Finucan, Elsa and Healey Dobson.  Left also are nieces and nephews. He knew how to make them all laugh.

 Memories on the rocks of Risor will be treasured by his brothers Martin Elvestad (Kikkan) and Jens Elvestad (Merette) all of Norway. He was proud of his Norwegian roots

and travelled back to his homeland many times.

Petter enjoyed the waters of Manitoulin Island for fishing, boating and just viewing its beauty.  “No fish in this lake” was his saying. 

At this time no services are planned .  A private family celebration will take place at a later date on the waters around the Strawberry Island lighthouse as per his wishes.
