and Richard, and cousin Seth Peltier; more cousins and chosen family, friends and professional
colleagues too numerous to name.

Mikey was born in Toronto. He spent his earliest years in Chicago, eventually moving back to Canada with his mother to Wiikwemkoong then Toronto, attending to school and work.
He moved to Vancouver in 2010 where he built a life and community for himself. Mike worked as a youth program coordinator for many years with
the Vancouver Aboriginal Community
Policing Center, which involved community outreach and land-based healing. He connected the youth with elders for talking circles, crafting, ceremonies, and advocacy work.
Michael was an artist. He ran a silk-screening program as a creative outlet for the youth which led to an entrepreneurial endeavour with dreams of a pan-american expansion
through networking with fellow indigenous groups. Michael enjoyed sketching, reading books about psychology, history, and entrepreneurship. He loved jogging along the seawall
and going to the gym, enjoying nature getaways, hiking, swimming, eating nachos, and adding hot sauce to everything!
The family would like to thank Tasha-Tanya Jacko, John Sakamoto-Kramer, Yumi Sakamoto, Candy Love, Monica Mabel Benson, and Susheela for their presence and caring supportive
help to Valerie while in Vancouver, through a very difficult time.
