It is with great sorrow that we announce
the passing of Melville (Mort) (Melvin) Finch.
He passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on Thursday, June 22nd 2023,
at the age of 91 years old. 

Son of late Percy Finch and Pearl (Bailey) Finch. 

Predeceased by siblings Lloyd Finch (Sylvia), Viola Finch, Ervin Finch, and Beverly Boniface (Gary).

Beloved father to Ronnie (Mary) Finch, Shirley Finch, Roger Finch, Franky Finch, Betty (Morris) Finch, Ramona Ranger, and Leonard Mandigo.

Cherished Papa of 18 grandchildren
and 20 great-grandchildren. 

His pride and joy was his home on Ten Mile Point, where his passion for farming thrived. You could often find him attending local fairs, watching horse pulls, selling fruits and vegetables, or conversing with anyone who would listen.

Melvin loved Manitoulin Island, he loved people,
and he also loved to tell a good story!
He will be dearly missed by many. 

A service will be held at Island Funeral Home
on Friday, June 30th at 11:00 am,
followed by a burial at the Elmview Cemetery.

Melvin loved flowers, and we welcome flower arrangements to be sent to the
Island Funeral Home in Little Current
 Monetary donations to the Heart and Stroke Society in Melvin Finch’s name are also appreciated.
