Treasured uncle to Charmaine, Noodin, Evelyn, Julius, 
Sophia, Arius, Leon, Thorsten, and Nimkii.
Best buddy to Jeremy Terry and uncle to his children, 
Jaelyn, Vivienne, and Lennon.  
Matthew was godfather to Ashley Assinewe.  
Matt  leaves behind many aunts, uncles, cousins
and grandpa Julius Assinewe.

Matthew was only here with us on this earth for a short period and in that time he accomplished a great deal.  Matthew had a genuine, adventurous and playful spirit that complimented his interactions with others.  Matthew was overjoyed in becoming a father and with the birth of each of his children, they became his life force.  
Matthew blessed everyone with his artistic gifts of creation, he was a natural visual artist as displayed through his paintings, logo's or tattooing himself or others.  Matthew
can be heard captivating audiences through playing music with his guitar and his charming singing.
Matthew had a one of a kind humour that accentuated 
his laughter and found joy in the smallest of things.  Just recently, Matthew started to express humour in the meme's he posted in his social media that seemed to amuse all.
Matthew was kind, smiley and always helping others.
Matthew worked as a Janitor/Custodian at Andy's, Holy Cross Mission, Reliable Maintenance, Health Sciences North, Naadwechige-Gamig Wikwemikong Health Centre and Wikwemikong Nursing Home. He also served as the President of the Cambrian Indigenous Student Circle during his post secondary studies at Cambrian College of which he also received an Animation Certification.

Family and friends will gather from 5:00pm
