In Loving Memory of
Mary Marilyn Mishibinijima (Simon)
Sunrise: July 18, 1959 - Sunset: May 24, 2026
She was 66 years old.
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Mary Mishibinijima,
who passed away peacefully in Sudbury at Health Sciences North on Sunday, May 24, 2026 surrounded by her loved ones.
She was born in Manitowaning on Manitoulin Island.
Mary grew up with a big family back home in South Bay,
she was 1 out of 10 siblings.
Mary enjoyed making quilts, baby afghans, cooking,
and making people around her laugh.
To some she was known as Chass, Momma Mary,
and Thundercat.
(She was no Thundercat, she was a Mountain Lion).
She enjoyed spending time with her family, children and especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Mary always had a big heart and was caring.
She never blinked once to help you out.
We will forever miss her stories, laughter, and that contagious smile.
Mary will be forever missed by her fur baby,
Beauford and Diesel.
Mary will be welcomed by her daughter Mary-Anne and her parents Agnes and Gabriel Mishibinijima.
Mary is survived by her siblings,
Malcolm, Dianne (Robert) and Godfrey (Virginia Shawande)
and predeceased by her siblings,
Philip, Rozina (Joseph Lavallee), Eugene, Howard, Francis (Laurie Ann), Terry and Valerie (David).
Survived by her children,
Aaron, Waren (Ruby) and Charlene and Shane.

River, Roselyn-Rae Paisley, Ezra.
Godmother to Kathlyn Lavallee, Richard Roy and Andrew Lavallee.
She will be greatly missed by her special friend Keith Pegelo,
