Laura passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family at Health Sciences North on Thursday, September 28, 2023
at the age of 75.
Beloved Mama to Cynthia & Phil, Laurie Ann & Brian
and Raven aka Eeberts, Wavy.
Adored grandmother to Bedahbin (Roland), Leo Jacob, Isaiah, Jordan, Peyton, London and Chi Nokomis to Aiden Vincent aka “Bay Bee and Cousin Vinny”.
Mama leaves behind her Grand fur babies, Ophelia, Smokey, D0gee-ba, Bella ba-, Courage, Puss Puss aka R-doinz, Kutchie, Bambi and Boston. Mum loved our family’s fur babies.
Laura has been reunited with her late parents Elizabeth and Elie Jackson, cherished daughter in law to the late Leona and Moses Pitawanakwat, and her late nephews Rodney Trudeau and Roger Dominic, along with her two partners in life and love, Harold Pitawanakwat ba and Isaac Abel ba. Last but not least her Auntie Doris (Wes) whom she adored and spoke of often.
Loving sister of Johnny (Gladys ba), Raymond (Yvonne), Dorothy ba, Linda (Lorne ba), Olive (Terry ba), Eva, Zaben (Lloyd), Tillie (Max ba), Violet (Ronnie), Thomas ba, Tommie and Ronnie.
Predeceased by her loving In Laws, Rita, Patsy, Marjorie, Lloyd, Laura, and Ricky (Linda). Survived by Carol, Barbara,
Gerald (Rose) and Judy (Jarvis ba). Best Friend the Late Hilda Plume, Lloyd Shawana, Nancy Shawana and Boy Roy ba. Dear friends Cecilia, Clara, Daryl, Gladys, Marcella, Muriel and Monica. Cherished Special Mom to Gail Plume, Lana Trudeau (Leroy) and Howard Shawana. Predeceased by the late Rodney, Russell and Julie Plume. Godmother to Ronnie Jackson, Larry Nahgawabow, Mark Pete, Miranda Assiniwe, Theresa Wabegijig,
Lenore Jackson ba and Jonathon Peltier ba.
Laura was dearly loved by many cousins, nieces, nephews, friends and will be greatly missed by many relatives
on all sides of her family.
Laura was very proud of her $3.00 or CLR (as she affectionately loved to call us) and grandkids, especially the joy of becoming a Chi Nokomis to Aiden Vincent. Laura had many hobbies, she enjoyed baking pies, catering, hitting the pow wow trail, thrift shopping, bingo and casino. She never paid regular price for anything. She was also a Phase 10 “Slayer”, during which nobody ever volunteers to sit to her left.

on Thursday, October 5, 2023 from 3:00pm.
Funeral Service at Holy Cross Mission
on Saturday, October 7, 2023 at 11:00am.
Burial to follow in the South Bay Cemetery.
