Joe Pie passed away peacefully at the Mindemoya Hospital on Monday, May 25, 2026 at the age of 79.
Joe Pie was the son of Leona and Jonas Anwhatin.
Cherished brother of Charlie, Robert, Jonas, Donnie, Clifford, John Doe, Issac, Sandra, Violet, Dorothy, Josie and Barbara-Jean.
Loving husband of Laura Jean Anwhatin.
Beloved father of
Annette, Josephine, Paula (predeceased), Jeffery (predeceased), Daniel (predeceased), Steven and Lucy.
Forever loved by his grandchildren
Maverick, Ashleigh, Adrienne (predeceased), Aaron (predeceased), Sonnie, Rebecca, Dream, Dallas, Kathleen, Mercades, Milly, Sky, Blade, Trey, Chase, Storm, Carter, Bailey, Honey, Jaden, Alyassa, Jordon and Justice.
As well as 17 great grandchildren and one more on the way.
Godfather of Debbie Aelick.
He will be missed by many more nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Joe Pie was a hard worker. He worked for M’Chigeeng for over 30 years. He was a skilled carpenter who loved to help out anyone in any way that he could. He loved his trucks and spent many hours driving around visiting with people. Most importantly, he loved his family and cherished spending time with his grandchildren.

on Wednesday, May 27, 2026 from 6pm.
Funeral Service
on Friday, May 29, 2026 at 11am.
With burial to follow
in the M’Chigeeng First Nation Cemetery.
