In Loving Memory
Jennifer “Jenni” Anne Manitowabi
October 20, 1966 - March 11, 2024
Jenni passed peacefully at home at the young age of 57.
Cherished mother to Andrew “Mamaateshiins”, Galen (Santana), Summer (Isaac) and Kevin (Rocio).
Loving granny to Danica (Aidan), Destiny, Gracie, Lukas, and all of her future grandbabies.
Treasured daughter of Andrew Manitowabi (ba) and Josephine nee Green (ba).
Beloved granddaughter of Louis Manitowabi (ba), Pauline Jacko nee Peltier (ba), John Green (ba) and Angela nee Sagima (ba).
Dear sister to Linda (ba), Farrell (ba), Sharon, Lester (ba), Ross (ba), James, Judy, Walter (Marcia) and Erin (Blair).
Jenni will be sadly missed by her nieces, nephews, cousins, her many friends, and her fur babies Buddy, JoJo, Milo and grandkitty Cheeto.
Jenni actively contributed to her community by advocating for a First Responder base, creating programs at the youth centre, and helping develop the Wiky Rez Dogs Group where she found homes for hundreds of Rez Dogs.
She had a passion for minor hockey, helping youth achieve their hockey dreams by her fundraising efforts and being a minor hockey manager. Jenni initiated the ‘honor stick’ farewell ceremony at Little NHL, which has become a tradition for Wiikwemkoong and other communities. She was a proud entrepreneur and she loved working with her dad at Andy's (the store). Jenni will always be remembered for her laugh, spontaneity, and her willingness to open her doors to anyone in need. She will be especially missed for her quick wit, loud personality, innuendos, wise crack jokes, and her overly caring and loving heart.
