In Loving Memory of
Jeanne Carolyn Mary Grubin (nee Leblanc)
Sunrise July 8th, 1944 - Sunset April 21st, 2023
She passed away peacefully at her home in Wikwemikong
at the age of 78.
She was predeceased by
her husband Vernon Grubin of 49 years,
her mother Clara Ganawebi Leblanc,
her father Joseph Leblanc
and her grandmother Jean (Grandmie) Rivers.
Loving mother of
Michelle Grubin and Aaron (Amanda) Grubin.
Loving grandmother of
Samantha Grubin and Alexandria Grubin.
Great grandmother of Grayce Wemigwance.
Jeanne was survived by her siblings
Dianna (Dawna) Leblanc, Wayne (Sue) Leblanc
and Irving (Lana) Leblanc,
and her godchild Rachael Webkamigad.
Jeanne will be sadly missed by her co-workers
and her many prior students.
She spent 24 years at Cecil Facer as a teacher and an advocate for the native students, then she continued to advocate for the children and helped start the highschool in Wikwemikong. She worked there for 5 years until her first class graduated. Her love didn't end with people, she loved animals big and small, from the pet hamsters to the foster dogs she opened her home to, always welcoming love from all of them. Her love and support was felt by all who met her.
The family would love to thank the medical staff at the Wiikwemkoong Health Centre, Health Sciences North,
Little Current Health Centre and Long Term Care for all their support and help with her fighting melanoma.
Celebration of life will be
at St. Ignatius Church, Buzwah
on Wednesday, April 26, 2023 at 1pm.
Funeral service
at Holy Cross Mission
on Thursday, April 27, 2023 at 11am.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests people donate to the Shirley & Jim Fielding Northeast Cancer Centre at Health Sciences North (Sudbury) in Jeanne's name please.
