In Loving Memory of
James "Jim" Clifford Wabegijig
July 23, 1944 - December 21, 2023
It is with great sorrow the family announces the death of James at the Manitoulin Health Centre at the age of 79 after a battle with cancer.
Born in Sudbury, James was the second oldest of 12 children. He was raised in Naughton.
Travels brought him to Vancouver, Hamilton, Little Current, Sudbury, and Wiikwemikoong. He was a general labourer, harvester and driver.
Jim, Jimmie led a full life, had a love for the horses and betting on his favorites, enjoyed sports especially football and baseball, fishing, poker, the casino, reading, sudoku, and the news. He harvested blueberries and mushrooms, enjoyed camping and spending time in nature. He had a great sense of humour, enjoyed comedy; always sharing his own funny stories and adventures. He loved good conversation and a challenging debate!
James greatest love was for his family. He was very proud of the accomplishments of his son and daughter. He had a special relationship with his nieces and nephews. He loved all his cousins.
James will be missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him. His wishes were to be cremated and his ashes taken to his favorite blueberry picking spots and other special sites, Buzwa, and Atikameksheng.
