Don will be missed by many nieces, nephews and friends.
Don loved to be active, especially in the outdoors. He took great joy from hunting, especially at the family camp for years with his son Kevin. relatives and friends, and later in life with his granddaughter Alannah at the Green Bush farm.
Sports were a passion of his for many years, particularly baseball and hockey. He coached at nearly every level in the region from junior to minor hockey. Hockey was his favourite sport, and many would say his time with the family team the Cooper Hawks, brought him his greatest joy as relatives of all ages would come together to cheer the players on while partaking in a mini-family reunion each tournament.
Community was very important to Don. He served on the regional school board along with being a member of the Little Current Lions Club, and was instrumental in the creation of the first Haweater Weekend.
His strength in life not only came from the love and support of his family and friends, but in his faith. A long-time supporter of Grace Bible Church, Don would rarely miss a service, and was a member of the board for many years.
