James William Kanasawe of Wikwemikong, born November 27th, 1990, began his journey to the Spirit World on
April 29th 2026 at the age of 35.
Loving father of
Jay, Jayden, Maria (Mother Purdey Assiniwai) and Stepfather of Alyzaya.
Son of Mary Louise Debassige and Farrell Kanasawe Sr.
Predeceased by his brother Farrell Kanasawe Jr.
He is survived by his siblings,
Sharon Giroux (Kevin) Gary Giroux, Darrel Debassige, John Debassige (Dawn), Kathryn Debassige, Bajek Debassige.
He will be missed by many Aunts and Uncles, Nieces and Nephews, Cousins, Relatives and Friends.
James will be sadly missed by his Godmother and special Aunt, Agnes Kanasawe, whose unconditional love was a guiding light in his life.
James will be remembered as a kind man with a big heart who always had a smile on his face.
He was a hard worker who always gave his best effort in everything he did, having various jobs including working for the fish farm in
Buzwah and Sucker Creek to his recent job in agriculture.
He will always be remembered by family and friends for his kindness, helping hands, laughter and his cheerful smile.
There will be a visitation at Buzwah Church on
Sunday May 3rd, 2026 at 4:00pm
Funeral service will take place at Buzwah Church on
Monday May 4th, 2026 at 11:00am
