In the afternoon of Friday, April 24, 2026, Ingrid Schwunk-Miller passed away peacefully into the arms of her Lord, Jesus with some of her family by her side.

There she married her first husband Werner Schwunk (predeceased).

Her family in Germany will miss her greatly as well.
Her sister Waltraut (Jupp predeceased) Wilms,

Ingrid is predeceased by her two older sisters Margrit Deerberg and Edith (Seppl) Kokott.
Ingrid was trained as a chemist in Germany. When they came to Canada in 1964, she went back to school and then worked for the Independent Order of Foresters, moving to Lindsay for 2 years to run a delicatessen, then to Massey to become Postmistress there for many years.
She then happily retired to Kagawong where she became an active member of the Gideons and the Ham Radio Club as well as a member of the Freshwater Community Church in Mindemoya.
She loved her flower and vegetable gardens, so much so that Garry built her a large greenhouse, tilled her a vegetable garden, and made her a shade garden.
Ingrid was a woman of strong faith and love for her family and friends, and stated, upon learning of her diagnosis,
“I am not afraid to die—I know where I am going,
but I am so sad to be leaving all of you.”
Public visitation will be
at the Freshwater Community Church, Mindemoya
on Tuesday, April 28, 2026 from 11am
until the time of the Funeral Service at 12pm.
Interment will be in the Kagawong Cedars Cemetery at a later date
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Gideons (ShareWord Global)
