Gilbert started his spirit journey on Wednesday, February 9th, 2022 at the age of 74.
Gilbert also known as “Put-a-but” was born in Manitowaning to parents
Adam and Ida Dokum.

Felix Dokum (Margaret) (both predeceased),
Linda Dokum
and Marian Dokum,
all from Wikwemikong.
He was a loving father to
Evans Pitawanakwat (Angela),
Greg Pitawanakwat (Suzie),
Norman Pitawanakwat of Wikwemikong,
Teresa Dokum,
and Beverly Dokum (predeceased) (Daniel) of Hickory, NC.
Step father to
Roslyn and Joseph.
Mother of children, Henrietta Dokum.
Special friend to Alexandrine (Sandy) Roy (predeceased).
Step father to Michael Roy,

Richard
and Jason.
Beloved Grandfather to

Dearest uncle, cousin and friend to many.
Gilbert worked with Eddy Forest and Wikwemikong Housing as a carpenter. He enjoyed gardening and fishing. He was well-known for his preserves and blood sausage throughout the community. He enjoyed traveling and meeting new people in his path, daily walks, cooking and family gatherings. His favourite pastime was playing bingo and visiting the casino with family and friends.
Friends and family will gather at the Kaboni Church on Saturday February 12th
with viewing starting at 10am
and funeral service 3pm.
With cremation to follow.
