Marie Jacko Tahgaiwenene

and Clement Eshkawkogan-Ozawanimiki (Dorothy).

Dear sister to Jerry, Josh (Tina),

Micheal (Daphne predeceased), Bernadette (Bruno), Jeffery (Hali), Mark, Bonita, Peter (Dawn)

and Patricia (Barclay).

Proud mother of Marie Ann Enosse (Elliott),

Vicki Enosse, Shawn Eshkawkogan (predeceased)

Will be deeply missed by her grandchildren Marcus, Xavier, Serenity, Venus.

Also her dogs Brutus and Saasha

Will be dearly missed by her many friends, nieces, nephews, cousins and her godchildren.

Gertrude started as a seamstress for the Manitoulin Trading Post making little native dolls. She was a

Nursery School Teacher, later becoming a Supervisor

and Cultural Coordinator.

Gertrude was talented with a needle and thread. She was often asked to fix her friends' sewing machines or Android boxes.

 She created; shawls, ribbon skirts, moccasins, drum bags, lighter cases, feather cases and all sorts of mittens. She shared her crafts with her family including the Hub Centre staff

and children.

Gertrude loved being with her family, sharing food, stories and laughter. She was a passionate Poker, Bingo

and Euchre player. Gertrude enjoyed being outdoors, maintaining her yard and riding her four wheeler.

She shared her love for Patsy Cline and Billy Ray Cyrus,

a playlist that would have the neighbors telling her to “turn it up”. She had a passion to speak and pass on the language, she was an Anishnaabemowin Kinomaagehkwe.

Visitation Tuesday, October 11, 2022, at 2pm.

Funeral Mass

at Holy Cross Mission Church

Thursday, October 13, 2022 at 11am

with cremation to follow.
