William Frederick "Fred" Hunter
June 5, 1940 - November 21, 2024

Fred passed away at Health Sciences North in Sudbury on Thursday, November 21st, 2024 at the age of 84.

Fred was born on Wednesday, June 5, 1940 to Gladys (nee Paisley) and James Hunter.

Fred was a proud farmer who along with the love of his life of 60 years, Carolyn, made their home and raised their family in Tehkummah. Fred worked for 20 years with Ontario Hydro and was a committed community member, helping out whenever asked. Over the years he served on council, fence viewer, Michael's Bay Historical Society, President of the Senior's Hall and thoroughly enjoyed calling square dances for family and friends. Fred always looked forward to spending time at the annual deer hunt with family.

Fred will be lovingly remembered by his wife Carolyn (nee White),

his children James (Kellie Tann), Ann (Greg Pyette), Roland and Madonna,

his grandchildren Katie (Chris Cyr), Amy (predeceased), Mitchell (Serina), Jenna (Mike), Billy (predeceased) and Phoebe,

and his great grandchildren Track, Trapper, Timber, Kira and Lilly.

Fondly remembered by many sister and brother in-laws and nieces and nephews.

Fred was predeceased by his sisters Shirley (Albert) Bond and Mary Lou (Dave) Phillips.

Cremation has taken place.
Family and friends will gather for a memorial service
at the Island Funeral Home
on Tuesday, November 26, 2024 at 11:00AM
with Pastor Barney Deforge officiating.

Fred will be laid to rest in Hilly Grove Cemetery in the spring.
