In Loving Memory of
Eleanor Diane Lentir (nee Greenway)
December 28 1946 - June 10 2024
It is with heavy hearts we announce the death of our beloved mother, nana, sister, and aunt. Wife of Mike(deceased).
Mother of Kurt (Sherry) Ben (Crystal) Luke (Trisha)
Nana to Karlee, Katelyn, George, Kasch, Alston, Peggy, Debbie, Buddy, and Shea. Also many nieces and nephews.
Eleanor was born December 28 1946 in South Baymouth, in a snow storm to Captain John Greenway Sr and Lillian (Gelston). Loving sister to Loretta (Greenway) Mucha and Captain John Greenway Jr. (Anita).
Eleanor wore many hats - executive secretary at CKLW radio station Windsor, bookkeeper - Providence Bay park, secretary McDermid's Home Hardware Providence Bay, Post Mistress for Canada Post, all while working at the family lumber mill. However her most important position was wife, mother, nan, and sister. She cherished her family above all.
As a community member she worked tirelessly for Michaels Bay Historical Society, Little Schoolhouse Museum South Bay Community Association,
and if there was a dinner needed anywhere, she was there.
She touched so many lives, and will be dearly missed by all. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Donations may be made in her memory to Michaels Bay Society, South Baymouth Community Association, Little Schoolhouse Museum or a charity of your choice.
