Doris Ethel (Bell) Holt

In Loving Memory of 
Doris Ethel Holt
February 26, 1924-August 17, 2022

Passed away peacefully at the MHC Mindemoya site, at the age of 98 years.

Predeceased by her parents Ethel Florence Bell and John James Bell, her brother James Bell and her husband of 68 years Eric Holt.

Loving mother of 5 daughters, Linda, Pat (John), Sandra, Laura (Larry) and Donna (David).

Proud grandmother of 16 grandchildren and 33 great grandchildren.

Doris was born in Toronto, living most of her younger years there, with moves to Lindsay, Wasaga beach and finally to Manitoulin Island, to be closer to her supportive family, following her husband’s death.

Doris was fun loving, thoroughly enjoying playing the piano, cards, watching sports, especially the Blue Jays and Maple Leafs. She was interested in all world news, an avid Ancestry historian, learned how to use a computer at 65 and still did her own income tax.

She made some invaluable friends since moving to Manitoulin, and spent her last 10 years enjoying life, until along with medical issues, Covid took over and was too insurmountable for Doris to overcome.

Thank you to the doctors and nurses, and all the support staff, at both the Little Current and Mindemoya hospitals, for their wonderful care and compassion shown to our cherished mother.

A private visitation will take place and interment will be at York Cemetery in Toronto, 
where her husband is buried.
