In Loving Memory of
Delia Jeanne Bebonang
Sunrise: May 5th, 1941- Sunset: May 19th, 2026
It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of our mother, Delia Jeanne Bebonang, on Tuesday, May 19th 2026, at the age of 85 years old. She passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on May 5th 1941, to Mary Agnes Williams, (nee Stoneypoint) and was brought up by her grandmother Veronica Bebamikawe.
Delia grew up with a deep love for her culture, learning from her grandmother, Veronica, how to harvest herbal medicines, garden, pick berries, gather natural materials and supplies and handcraft exquisite pieces of art (her porcupine quill work). Her family meant the most to her. She planted her roots in M’Chigeeng First Nation and raised her four children there. She was a strong, patient mother with a silly sense of humour who always put others before herself. She turned her porcupine quill box-making into a successful career, where she had the opportunity to share her skills, teach students and travel the world, becoming a recognized artist in museums.
Delia will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by her children,
Eric (Eria baa), Helena, Darren and Aldine.
She was a proud and doting grandmother to
Sky (Ghost), Matthew (Kaelyn), Natashia (Cordell), Ruby, Joanna (Adam), Eric Jr. (Heather), Ursula,
as well as her great-grandchildren
Quientin, Nimkii, Jaheim, Eria, Jayda, Zavery, Echo, Aura,
who always brought a sparkle to her eye and smile on her face.
She will also be missed by her sister Gladys,
numerous nieces, nephews, dear friends and her communities she called home.
She was predeceased by her grandmother, Veronica Bebmikawe
and her mother Mary Agnes Williams (nee Stoneypoint)
brothers, sisters, uncles, aunts, cousins.
Wake services for Delia will be held
on Saturday and Sunday, May 23rd and 24th, 2026
at 6:30pm, in Sagamok First Nation at the new community centre,
with funeral services to follow on Monday, May 25th 2026, at 11am.
Burial to follow in the Sagamok Cemetery.
