With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Christopher who passed away peacefully at the Manitoulin Health Centre

Beloved son of Linda Assiniwe and Robert “Bob” Manitowabi-Fox.

Cherished father of Eren (Malcom), Alayah, Emaleigh, Nyrah, Rhyett and Raelyn (predeceased).

Survived by his siblings Tracy (Jason), Stacy (Duke), Gerard (Alexandra), Dwayne and Brett.

Nieces Kylee and Ava and nephew Dustin.

Special friends Jessica Sky and Carmen.

Godparents Carol Assiniwe and Ronald J. Fox (predeceased).

Chris will be greeted by his grandparents Josephine L. Assiniwe (predeceased) as well as Gary and Betty Manitowabi (both predeceased)

Chris will be deeply missed by his aunties, uncles, cousins and a wide circle of friends from Wikwemikong and beyond. 

Special friends Donovan Taibossigai, Matt Bob-Recollet, Andy Manitowabi, Nathan Bryant, Absy Bluff, Dennis Oshkabewisens, Andy Oshkabewisens
and godchild Danica Peltier.

A dedicated and skilled worker, Chris proudly served for over a decade as a heavy equipment operator with Pioneer/Belanger, a member of the International Union of Operator Engineers Local 793 in Sudbury. Chris’s kindness, laughter and unwavering love for his family and friends will never be forgotten. His spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
Chris enjoyed watching his football team, the Green Bay Packers, when they played. Chris loved spending time with his girls. He also enjoyed playing golf, fishing, camping and his road trips to where the road would take him.

Funeral Mass at the Holy Cross Mission Church
on Thursday, March 27, 2025 at 1:00 pm.
Cremation to follow.
