Oh Carol, I am very sorry for your loss. The final month sounds as though it took quite a toll, but how lovely that you had that time together to make more memories. I wish that I was there.

John and I will be coming home to the Manitoulin sometime in April, much depending on the weather. I will call you once we have arrived and hopefully we can have a visit.

I am holding you in my thoughts and in my prayers. God bless you and keep you Carol, until I see you.

Memories of Bruce can only bring back good feelings of a life well lived. Look up "Gentlemen" in the Dictionary and there's a picture of Bruce. He was a crusader to the end, fighting the good fight the entire way! I will miss Bruce and his kind hearted and humorous ways. In the words of Warren Zevon "and his hair was perfect" certainly described his locks, I always wondered if he woke up that way.. Godspeed my friend! Hope to see you in the end..

May I express the sorrow of all of us at the Mitton household at Bruce's departure from our presence. Having viewed your pictures posted on this site, I must acknowledge that the vision of Bruce with crash lid and a four-wheeler mud walker are new indelible in my mind. I think Bruce would like that !

My dearest Carol~

I have read and re-read your loving, tender and touching tribute to your beloved Bruce, each time, with Kleenex in hand.
Without a doubt, your evident love, dedication and devotion are an  inspiration to all with whom you have chosen to share  your journey.
While I only met Bruce that one time you so graciously invited my to stay with you, I feel that I have come to appreciate him through your  eyes, and to understand, what he meant to you.

We're happy for Bruce...what a sweet, funny man he was.  I expect as he was welcomed into through those gates, he'd have something smart to say and a big smile on his face. We'll miss him.

In a visit last summer, Bruce told me that he was at peace with any outcome of his illness.  He said "If I get better, I will have more time on earth with Carol and others that I love, and if I don't I will be with my Lord for eternity, enjoying His presence....either way, it's a win-win situation". I was strongly impacted by his solid faith and confidence in God's goodness despite difficult circumstances.
Much love to you all from us out west.
Marni and family.

Dear Carol and Family:
Your loss is heaven's gain but what a huge hole this must create in your hearts and lives. We remember Bruce as a warm and teasing,  but strong man of faith and character who loved with such a passion! The joyful twinkle in his eyes and his  love to banter affectionately, made him so endearing to many!  He will be missed by us all and we share your grief and sorrow and send continued thoughts and prayers to you all.
We know his celebration of life service will be to the glory of God and will reflect the grace and goodness of a life lived to the fullest!! May you know the Lord's peace and comfort through the tears. We will join you in spirit, through livestream this Saturday.
With much love, many hugs and  ongoing prayers, Herb & Sandi.
" Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His godly ones." ( Psalm 116:15).

Such a sad day for all of you today. I have such good memories of Bruce and our bantering. I always enjoyed the volley of quips we enjoyed and am even now smiling at those memories. I remember the “goodies” that Bruce used to bring us when he was still working. He was such a simple good-hearted man. I feel bad that we didn’t get to see you and Bruce on your last visit down but I know how hard that good-bye would have been. It was so nice to talk to him on the phone while he was in the hospital.  I cannot also forget the kindness you showed our kids when you left the neighbourhood - so generous. Sending hugs and love to all of you.
RIP Bruce, you’ve earned your wings.

Hey Carol,

I was so sorry to hear of Bruce's passing.  The days ahead will surely be filled with sadness. But may you also think fondly of the life you forged together, the contributions made, the challenges faced, the joy discovered, the friendships nurtured and the love shared. Peace to you, my friend. You are in my heart.
