In loving memory of
Dolores Nahwegahbo (nee: Jackson)
June 26, 1948 – January 29, 2021

Dolores passed away peacefully at the Manitoulin Health Centre with her family by her side.

Beloved wife of Robert Nahwegahbo, cherished mother to Craig, Gordon and Julie and loving sister to many wonderful siblings.

Dolores was born in South Bay, Wiikwemikoong First Nation later moving to Toronto, Ontario where she fulfilled her childhood dream of becoming a Nurse. She worked at several hospitals in the Toronto area before retiring from Woman’s College Hospital where she worked in the operating room. Upon her retirement Dolores returned to Manitoulin Island and continued her nursing career at the North Eastern Manitoulin Island Family Health Team working part time to serve her new community of Little Current.

Dolores was an avid gardener and volunteered with a lovely gardening group where she made many friends.

Special thanks to the staff at the Manitoulin Health Centre for their compassionate care and hospitality during her final days.

Memorial donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society and would be much appreciated.

Bob, Gord, Julie and Craig our deepest condolences to you all. Paul and I are in shock hearing this news. The last time we saw her was a few years ago when we were out for lunch and the next thing we knew Delores was sliding in our booth with us. What a wonderful surprise it was. She was a happy, kind loving person and will be fondly missed by everyone. Gone to soon. Hugs.

It was with a heavy heart that I heard of Dolores passing into the Spirit world. Dolores was an amazing person, kind, caring, creative and loving. She added beauty to the altar of St. Bernards Church and assisted anyone who needed help. She will be missed by many but those who called her friend may find comfort that she now flies with the angels. Our sincere condolences to Robert and all her family.
