In loving memory of a very special lady “Patricia Gail Leeson”who was born on April 1, 1966 in Little Current. Gail passed away suddenly on February 8, 2020 at Health Sciences North at the age of 53 with her family by her side.
Daughter of Edna and Glen Leeson (predeceased). Beloved sister of Cheryl (Bill) Batman, Glenda (predeceased) Doug Friesen, Wilberta Leeson, and Perry Leeson (Lynn Tooley).
She will be forever missed by her kids (nieces Kayla (Chad Martin), Sarah Friesen, (nephews Kyle Batman (Leeann Dumanski) Cory (Rhonda) Batman, Brion Friesen, Adam Leeson (Lindsay Auge), great niece Abby Martin, and great-nephews Andrew Batman, Ashton Batman, Brandon Batman, Bryce Batman, Reed Martin, Kayleb Friesen, and Holden Leeson.
Those who knew Gail well will remember her for wearing her beads “not necklaces” everywhere she went.  She was a social butterfly in the community and a dancing queen as she loved all music and enjoyed dancing anywhere especially for the residents at the manor every Thursday afternoon. Gail also loved the glitter and glamour of travelling. The more expensive the trip the better she liked it. She had the opportunity to travel across Canada and the Unites States, Mexico and the Caribbean countries.
Gail was a busy girl, bowling with her Espanola Community Living friends on Monday’s, foot appointments on Tuesday’s, massages on Wednesdays, volunteering for music hour at the Manitoulin Centennial Manor on Thursday’s, physiotherapy on Friday’s, and the dump on Saturday’s.  Any spare minutes left in a week she would try to convince Sister Bert to take her somewhere else.
Gail spent many hours taking pictures with her iPhone and iPad, looking at her Facebook, and writing and sending cards to her kids and friends.
Family and friends are invited to gather at the Island Funeral Home for a Celebration of her Life on Sunday February 16, 2020 with visitation starting at 1:00 pm followed by the celebration service at 3:00 pm. Burial in the spring.
The family would appreciate donations in memory of Gail to go to her favourite dancing spot, the Manitoulin Centennial Manor Auxiliary, the Manitoulin Centennial Manor Tree-of Lights, or a charity of your choice.
Gail left this world and pursued her next journey during a beautiful sunset on the horizon followed by the brightest full moon so that she could find her way.

We were very shocked and saddened to read this news. Gail always provided joy and happiness everywhere she went. Her sunshine will be missed. We remember her coming to her 50th Surprise party and saying “ now this is a party” , let’s hope she made that same statement when she joined her Dad and her sister. Hugs to all Rick and Gail

Larry and I just heard about the passing of Gail and were both very shocked. She was an amazing Lady who always had a big hug and smile when she met you. She certainly will be missed, the obituary was perfectly written as it described her so well. Gail was so blessed to have Edna as her mom and Roberta as her side kick. Our condolences go out to the Leeson family.

My sincere condolences to you Wilberta, your Mom and family. Gail was such a shining star who brightened everyone's day. She touched the hearts of all who knew her, and left a feeling of joy wherever she went. I remember my Dad driving her to school in Gore Bay, he just thought the world of her, and always had a Gail story that left us all smiling. We are never ready to lose the ones we love, and Gail sure was loved by all. Keep your memories of her close to your heart and tell her stories often.

Very sad to hear of the passing of Gail. I fondly remember visits with her during our days building homes. Gail often road with father Glen delivering gravel to our building sites. Gail was always so cheerful, always asked about our daughters who share the same birth year.
Gail always had a affectionate hug when meeting her in the post office, I will miss my visits with this exceptional young lady.
My thoughts are with the family.

Edna, Bert and family. We were both shocked and saddened when we heard about Gail passing suddenly. Many memories flood my mind from a young girl when my dad worked for Glen and Edna. You all were so good to her and she was loved so much. We enjoyed seeing her in so many different places and hearing what she was up to. I enjoyed seeing her over the past years here in our store and chatting about the events she was going to. Bert the stories you could tell about your adventures with Gail! She was lucky to have you take her and experience the years she did with you too.

This is such a very beautiful tribute to her indeed. She will be in our hearts and minds forever.
Our deepest sympathy and condolences to everyone.

So very sad to hear of Gail’s passing. I have so many fond memories of Gail. With her fabulous memory, she would always know me whenever I visited home Often Gail would be downtown with her Mom with her fantastic beads perfectly placed around her neck. She always shone with her contagious smile and laugh and always greeted me with a ‘Hi Lana where have you been?’ She is a beautiful soul and I know she is still among us in so many ways.
