To the Routledge Family, my deepest condolences..

I got to meet John through his work as Gore Bay Arena Manager and as an umpire in soft ball. He brought a lot of thoughtful knowledge when it came to the arena that we as a community will always be indebted to. He had an infectious attitude that he brought to the rink each day. It was impossible not to consider him a close friend even in his short time that he was involved in our community. Thanks again John for the time spent with us. You are and will forever be missed.

To all of John's Family: We were so very sad to hear the news of our dear friend John's passing. John was such a kind, friendly soul. We enjoyed his visits, his phone calls and will miss those. He always joked with me about keeping Bill around and we had some good laughs. He was loved much and will be missed much. Our love and condolences go to his family and a big hug to Junebug, the Apple of his eye. Sandra & Bill Giles.

John and I knew each other for many years, both as a friend and professionally covering sports and other activities in Espanola. Always available for a quote or two, lots of suggestions and plenty of enthusiasm, he showed his love for community, family and friends in many ways. Thank you for touching all our lives, rest easy, my friend ... you are already missed!

It was very sad to hear this. John worked with my late wife Deb at the Espanola Rec Complex and kept her memory alive with awesome postings on Facebook. His kindness will never be forgotten. I wished I would have had a chance to thank him for all he did , my sincere condolences.

Dear Routledge Family. I just read about John's passing and wanted to send my sincere condolences. John and I grew up together in Phelpston. We had our adventures but as was often the case, we lost touch as we grew up. We did run into each other a couple of times over the years and he recently posted a picture of the last time we connected in person (years ago) up in Engelhart, Ontario. While I have not seen John in person for many year we did reconnect over social media and renewed our friendship. John told me about his children, his grandchildren,(which he loved like crazy), his friends ... he a true story teller and had a great sense of humour. It was a joy to be in touch again. I will miss him. God bless you!

I am so saddened to hear of John's passing. My condolences to all of you.
I knew John from when I worked for his mom at the flower shop in Englehart, we later became neighbors. He was a big help to me as I was raising my oldest son on my own. I have kept in touch with him through facebook. I will miss seeing his cute anecdotes and wonderful pictures of his children and grandchildren. RIP JOHN
