It is with profound sadness the family of Norma Elliott (Woods) announces her passing on February 27, 2019.

Norma was born on March 30th, 1943 to Lloyd and Katherine Woods in Kirkland Lake, Ontario.
Norma was the youngest of 13 children and is survived by her sister Josie Grant (Russ) of Serpent River, Ontario.
In 1959 she married Bill Elliott and lived happily until his passing in 2012.
After living in the Elliot Lake area for the first few years, Bill convinced mom that Island life was for them to raise their family.
Together they had 3 boys,
Lloyd (Darlene) of Mindemoya,
Johnny (Wendy) of Sault Ste. Marie
and Glenn (Laurie) of Val Gagne.
Grand mother to John, Glenn, Ryan, Amber, Cory and Shane.
Great Grand Mother to 10.
Norma was well known for baking, cooking, canning and gardening. She loved participating in the annual Providence Bay Fair.  Also at the local farmers markets she was know for her baked goods and crafts. She was the happiest in her kitchen preparing meals for all who came.
Her baking was legendary - Legend has it she made daily lunches for her boys to take to school. At one parent teacher night she found out son Johnny was selling his sandwiches made from homemade bread and baking to the highest bidder to fund his hockey card collection.
Over Norma’s life she worked as the local Avon representative as well as working as a cook at the Island Hub Restaurant in Mindemoya.
Norma was always more than happy to prepare goods for the Mindemoya Women Aux. When they were having their socials.
A special thank you to the staff of both Little Current and Mindemoya Hospitals with the exceptional care that Norma received over the last several months and also to the PSW’s that helped with the care over the last few years.
Into the '80's and '90's as Mom and Dad approached retirement they opened up their home to Norma's Bed & Breakfast. They thoroughly enjoyed entertaining people from all over the world.

Donations to Mindemoya Women’s Aux. Box 284 Mindemoya On. P0P 1S0 or a charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated .

My sincerest condolences to Lloyd Johnny and Glen. Your mom was an amazing person. Always happy and loving company. My fondest memory is having mashed potato fights after the amazing dinner she had prepared. My love to you all.

My fondest memories are helping Aunt Norma at Providence Bay Fair time. Couldn’t wait for the chance to bake something with her. I think my hands are still water logged from all the dishes I had to do! Worth every minute! She had so much patience too. Especially when it came with her ‘extended’ grandchildren! Rest In Peace Aunt Norma. I know Dad is looking forward to some home made sticky buns now.
Lots of love

Aunt Norma was a gift, she always made me feel welcomed and special when visiting. Her laughter and smile, a little teasing and far too much great food are the memories that live in my heart of her. I hope she is travelling well where ever that may be.
