Dear Susan and Simon
We met you this summer at your yard sale and at the market.
We are planning to move up to the Island to my brother' place ...the old McGillis place.
Now you know who we are....please accept our deepest sympathy.
We met your mother at the market this summer. What a wonderful, beautiful woman!
We are so sorry for your loss!
See you in the spring!

I had the pleasure of working with Jean at Northernaire Lodge back in the 1980's where Jean was like a grandmother to all of us girls who were fortunate enough to work with her. Jean took us all under her wing, made sure we had enough to eat and that the owners never found out that we raided the kitchen late at night. Jean had a marvelous sense of humour and I feel so fortunate that I was able to attend her 100th birthday party last summer. Not only did Jean remember me and the other two 'Northernaire girls' who came with me, but she had a remarkable memory of the shenanigans we used to get in to. You were a treasure to know Jean, an absolute treasure. Rest in peace.

To all of Jean' s family we send our heart felt sympathy. There will be a very large void in our community with Jean gone. I will always remember our birthday celebrations through the years and will continue the tradition in Jeans memory.

To All the family: Please except our condolences at this time. Jean was a wonderful women who has gone through a hundred years of changes some good some bad. If only we all had the same kind spirit that Jean showed to people she just met with a warm smile and a welcoming hello and how are you today. She will be able to play cards with her friends who passed on before her.

Condolences to the family. I worked with Jean at Northeraire and it was a pleasure. We had a lot of fun. She would come up to our house in some afternoons and we would have a rum. We have sent a Christmas card every year with a letter in it. We never missed a year. I didn't know about her 100th birthday party and was so disappointed. She wrote me a letter after. She loved her cats . I am sure she will be missed a lot she was so active. R.i.p. Jean. You were such a hard worker all your life now it is your time for rest
Love Judy xxoo

To all the McCauley Family
What a blessing it has been to know Jean and her wonderful smile. Her warm, welcoming personality and story telling made the most reserved person feel accepted. She was a fabulous cook and even at the age of 100 could give you a challenge in cards. I will cherish her memory. With many prayers and thoughts to the family of a woman who was the grand matriarch to a very caring and loving family. Erwin

Dear Pat, Pauline, Susan, Molly and all the extended family.
Your mom will be greatly missed and. Euchre and other events at the hall will be sorely lacking without her wonderful buns and other fabulous baking.

She was a wonderful, giving person who enjoyed a beautiful life and I am sad that it has ended. Such is the natural order, I suppose.

Dear Pat,Pauline, Susan & your extended families
It was with great sorrow that I read of Jean's passing .
She was such fun to be with , always sparkling.
I remember the day that I was driving up Hwy 6 & she fell through the snow crust while collecting her mail . I did a quick u-turn to help her out as the snow was very deep. She wouldn't allow me to carry her groceries up to the house as I was expecting Michael ..... Jean was 65 but she was worried about me because I was 35 . You'll have all your wonderful memories of her in your hearts & minds . I hope they give you comfort at this time.
