In Loving Memory Of
Marion Katheline Debassige

Passed away in Lansing, Michigan
on Thursday, September 7th, 2017
at the age of 75.

Born to Josette (nee Toulouse) and Lazare Debassige,
at the old homestead in West Bay
on December 19th, 1941.

Beloved wife of Douglas Debassige.
Loving mother of Will, Ronald and Kelly.
Loving sister of Mike Debassige (Winnie “Pam” predeceased), of M'Chigeeng,
Julie Debassige of Toronto,
Lewis Debassige of M'Chigeeng,
Christine and Robert McGregor of Toronto.  
Margaret Manitowabi (predeceased),
Peter Debassige (predeceased) Bessie,
Martha Simmers (predeceased) Bill.

Marion attended the St. Joe’s Residential School in Spanish.  She went on to graduate from St. Mary’s Business School in North Bay.  She married Douglas in 1961.  They moved to Toronto where Marion worked in the banking field making her way up into management.  In 1968 the family moved to Lansing, where Marion continued to work in banking for First Bank of America.  Marion found great joy in helping others.  She was dedicated to service with the Cristo Rey Church, were she was an Eucharistic Minister.  She was also an active member of the “Manitoulin Island” community in Lansing.  She will be sadly missed by nieces, nephews the “Manitoulin Island” group, and close friends.

Friends and relatives may call at
Saswaahns Spiritual Centre, 44 Tikmeg Rd., M'Chigeeng
after 3 p.m. on Monday.
Funeral Mass
11:30 am Wednesday, September 13, 2017 at Immaculate Conception Church
Interment in M'Chigeeng Cemetery.

Sadden to hear you passed away and were buried before I returned home from my own healing journey. Sending my deepest condolences for your loss. My cousin Marion bah was truly a warm, kind and loving Anishinabe Kweh. Hugs to you because I still remember her hugs from different times.
