Joy Marie Robson
            July 6, 1920 – Dec 3, 2016

Joy Marie Robson, age 96, of Little Current, Ontario, passed away peacefully on Dec 3rd at the Centennial Manor, Manitoulin Island, with her family by her side.
Predeceased by parents Harry and Annie (McKellar) Hayward, husband Don Robson 1990 and partner Floyd Meads 2001. Also, predeceased by infant son Keith.

Joy was born in Moore Township, south of Sarnia and married Don in 1940. They raised their four girls in Creighton and Naughton where she was an active member of the United Church. When Don took early retirement, they spent their summers at Fairbank Lake and winters in the Texas sunshine.  She had a full and active life, always caring for others but still found time to quilt, play cards and travel. She was a true lady in all aspects; kind, patient and understanding, finding the best in all people and situations and loved by all who knew her. She was our “Joy”.

Joy is survived by her dear brother Melvin (Lorraine) Hayward of Corunna, and predeceased by sisters Muriel Churchill and Norma Scott, and her brothers Peter and Albert Hayward.

Dear mother of Ruthella Robson, Sequin, Dorothy Leblanc (Ivan predeceased), Naughton, and Suzanne Robson (Roy McAllister) and Sharon Terry (Mike), both of Manitowaning.

Joy will be sadly missed by her grandchildren Virginia, Linda, Andrea, Wayne, Matthew, Julie and Paul.  Also, her great grandchildren; Allanah, Keith, Randy, Chelsea, Rhys, Maya and Ethan.

The family would like to thank the entire staff and nursing team at Centennial Manor for their kindness and dedication to Joy’s care and a thank you to all friends and family who visited with her over these last few difficult years.  Those visits made a huge difference in her life.

At Joy’s request, there will be no visitation. Following cremation, a graveside memorial ceremony will take place in Lively, ON.  The time and date to be sometime in the spring of 2017.

Condolences may be forwarded through the Island Funeral Home at www.islandfuneralhome.ca.  If desired, a donation can be made in Joy's memory to the Manitoulin Centennial Manor Aux., (Fund Raising Committee) Box 460, Little Current, ON P0P 1K0.
