I wish I had met her earlier and had known her longer. I worked with Gwen at the Bank of Montreal and then we both worked for the Bondi family. She was a support and offered advice/encouragement when I was single, when I was a new bride and then when I became a mother. We lost touch over the years but I knew she was only a phone call away if I needed her. May you rest in peace sweet Gwen, you will forever be remembered. Sending our condolences to her parents, sons and family.

We were so sorry to hear of Gwen's passing. She was such a strong and gracious woman. So full of love and caring. She was a great cousin to Eric and she was always so good to our boys. Gwen spent her life taking care of everyone especially her sons. We will never forget her and we will always remember her wonderful smile. Eric and I will never forget the day she cut her beautiful long red hair, holding up her long braided hair with a big smile on her face.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Craig and Devon and Todd, and her family Carol and Neil and Lois Frieda and Patricia who have already lost so much in their life. Gwen will truly be missed by all how were fortunate to know Gwen. Now she will be there to take care of David and Roxanne

I have had the blessing of both working and pursuing secondary education with Gwen; and i can truly say that i will always remember several fond memories from both. Gwen had the type of perseverance that rubbed off on those around her and made them better people for it. Gwen's dedication to the helping field on Manitoulin Island was unmatched and i would like to thank her for that. My condolences to her family and to those feeling her loss.

I am so sorry for your Loss Craig, Devan, Todd and the rest of the family. Gwen was a good person with a big heart. I know she welcomed Jordan into her home many times and always had a smile when I would meet and talk to her. It was several years after high school when I ran into Gwen and I remember her asking me if I remembered her and I said " How could I not you have not changed a bit" Taken too soon. My thoughts are with all of you at this time.

Our deepest condolences to the Middaugh family. We are so sorry to hear of Gwen's passing and hold you and your family in our prayers. Gwen was truly an exceptional person. Her love of life long learning is truly an inspiration to all who are determined to continue their education regardless of age and everyday obstacles life challenges us with. I marvelled at her ability to hold down two or more jobs and continue to work on her university degree. She was a strong and passionate advocate for the people she supported and will be greatly missed by family, friends and co-workers.

I was very sad when I heard the news of Gwen's passing. In 2003 I came to mindemoya and stayed at the Haven House as I was in a rough spot in life, that is where I first met Gwen, and I must say if it wasn't for Gwen, I would not be here today. Gwen helped me through some tough stuff and showed me that I am a beautiful person, inside and out. Through many talks and heart felt conversations Gwen helped me become the woman I am today. I owe her so much for helping me get back on my feet. Gwen, was my angle who saved me, literally. I will miss her smile, but not as much as her laugh. Gwen was an amazing person and I will dearly miss her.

Our hearts are so broken. I send my sincere condolences to Gwen's immediate family, fiance, and her many dear friends who - I know - are grieving deeply. Gwen took me under her wings (huge wings for such a tiny person!) and helped my son and me when we were newcomers. She steered me in the right direction, warned me away from a few wrong directions!, and was a true leader among the people of Manitoulin Island. Her body was small but her reach was so vast. There will never be anyone like her. Dear Gwen, rest in peace and thank you so much for how you touched our lives.

Our deepest sympathy for your loss. Your family were our good neighbours for so long & we feel so bad that you must bear the pain of Gwen's passing.

Her compassion was only exceeded by her determination. Everything she pursued she accompished. The world has a huge hole left in it with her passing. I can smile when I remember her smile, her laugh, her joy. My prayers are that God will continue to watch over her family during the difficult days ahead. I was shocked and deeply saddened to hear of Gwen's passing. I was fortunate enough to know Gwen both as a friend, and most importantly, as family. Her kind and caring spirit will never be forgotten. She had a way of touching people's lives and making them realize their true value. Gwen was there for me, as I'm sure she was for many others, during a very difficult time in my life while I was trying to get back on my feet after escaping an abusive relationship. She helped me in more ways than she ever knew, and for that I am eternally grateful. I wish I had the chance to tell her that. I had the honor of being her flower girl when I was 4 or 5 years old. And I will always remember my first trip to Toronto with Gwen when I was younger to go to a horse show. She was a gem, and all who knew her were lucky to have her in their lives. I extend my most sincere and deepest sympathy to Todd, Craig, Devin, Neil, Carole, Lois, Freida, and Trish. She may be gone from this world, but she will NEVER be forgotten. Forever in our hearts. Rest in Peace dear Gwen. xoxo

Gwen left her mark with me about 34 years ago when we met briefly as co-workers at Timberlane Resort (Lake Manitu). Although, I did not know her long, I remember her as a very sweet and kind young person. I am shocked at such a young loss of life. Maybe knowing how many lives were sweetly touched by Gwen will help bring comfort at this difficult time for her family.
