Malcolm Sinclair Sterritt
August 23, 1933 – May 31, 2012

Malcolm Sinclair STERRITT, passed away peacefully in his 79th year surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, May 31, 2012 at the Extendicare Long-term Care Centre in Brampton.

Beloved husband of the late Patricia Joan Sterritt (nee Morris), survived by brother John (wife Pearl), predeceased by sisters Isabel Wilson (husband Jack) and Joyce Wylie (husband Jack) and brother David (wife June).  A loving and caring father, he will be sorely missed by his children, Rick, Wendy (Gray), Robert (wife Lorie), and Carl (wife Karen) and his grandchildren, Mandy, Laura, Nicole, Samantha, Jake and Benjamin.  His many relatives are also saddened by his passing.

Malcolm, aka “The Manitoulin Kid” will always be remembered for his wonderful sense of humour and quick wit.  His love of storytelling and his impeccable memory of jokes brought many smiles and belly-bursting laughter to all who knew him throughout his life. He will be forever in our hearts and fondly remembered with warm smiles and perhaps a chuckle or two.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Extendicare Brampton for their care over the past 14 months.

Funeral services will be held at the Island Funeral Home in Little Current, ON on Monday, June 4th with visitation 1-3pm followed by burial at Hilly Grove Cemetery in Manitowaning and a luncheon/reception at the United  Church in Manitowaning.  A memorial service will be held in the Brampton area later in June at a location yet to be determined.

Joyce (predeceased Howard) Holmes and family, neighbors of the Sterritt family in Hilly Grove, Manitowaning for many years would like to sent our condolences to his family and friends. He was a very kind, well liked man, known for farming, bus driving, liked to talk (haha) , and took extremely good care of his wife in her last years with us. He will be sadly missed by his whole family.
