Rosemary started her journey peacefully,
lovingly surrounded by family at Toronto General Hospital
on Monday March 25, 2024.
Daughter of Sarah Wassegijig (Nee Mishibinijima)
& Augustine "Gus" Wassegijig.
Mother to Joey (Predeceased), Luke (Kayla),
Sheena, Courtney (Launie), and Jamie (Daniel).
Granddaughter to Catherine & Frederick Mishibinijima, Theresa Shawana & David Wassegijig (Predeceased).
Mama Rose to Grandchildren Branden, Dustin (Evangelista), Ian (Lyric), Saramarie, Emberlynn, Austin, Hayden, Adrian Joseph, Launie "Baby Launie", Rayne, and Callaway.
Great Grandmother to Easton, Rosalee, and Reed.
Sister to Alvin (Predeceased), Bernice, Priscilla, Winnifred, Eleanor, Bernard, and Rosie.
Special Friend of James "Emmeh" Peltier. Special Niece to Angeline Kimewon. Godmother to Stacey Animikwan. Rosemary will be forever remembered by her dear Nieces and Nephews as Auntie Rose. She will be fondly missed by her sister cousins Margaret, Linda, Jeanie and Childhood Friends Jean, Loretta, Patsy, Elizabeth, Mabel.
Rosemary will be remembered by many friends and family. 

Rosemary retired in 2023 as a Custodian from Wikwemikong Board of Education, where she worked for 20 years since the opening of Wasse Abin High School. She will be remembered with love and respect by the staff of WBE for her unwavering strength and determination. She was proud of her 5 children and her home, she was a hard worker and had a passion for cleaning. She loved being Mama Rose to her grandchildren. She loved travelling, country concerts, hanging out with her best friends, dancing, thrift shopping, casinos, beach days, trying new foods, baking bread and was famous for her enchiladas. During her DLT journey, she found friendship with Mary Manitowabi. Later in life, she enjoyed beadwork and beading hats for friends and family. Her family would like to thank the medical staff at Toronto General Hospital for their care and support.

Rosemary will be resting at Buzwah Church in Wikwemikong starting on Saturday March 30th, 2024 at 1:00pm

with Funeral Services at Holy Cross
on Monday April 1st, 2024 at 11:00am.
Cremation to follow with Celebration of Life planned in the summer of 2024 at her home for the burial of her ashes, joining her son Joey Wassegijig at Buzwah Cemetery.
